These notices were taken from a public pool in Singapore.  Singapore Sports Council has urged the public using its pools to put on proper swimwear when using the pool facilities.
Proper swimwear not only helps you to exercise better in the water, it is also a safety measure.  I had a comment that appropriate swimwear minimises obstruction to limbs movements.

Come into the pool for some Aqua Aerobics!

My friend, Lily Danker is over 70 years old.  Not to boast about the ripe "young" age, however her enthusiasm and energy in daily activities is something, I, as a friend am proud of.  Lily walks with a straight back and at a speed of most people in their 30s.
I came to know that Lily, besides volunteering at a nursing home guiding exercises to residents, she also does weekly Aqua Aerobics at Toa Payoh Swimming Complex.
As an encouragement to everyone to join in some kind of water sports, I had compiled a short Q&A between Lily and I:

Q) How long have you engaged in this activity?

A) 10 to 11 years

Q) How did you come to know about this sport?

A) Through one of my friends.

Q) What has motivated you to keep continuing this exercise?

A) I love water sports even though I am not a good swimmer.

Q) How has it help you in your lifestyle? (eg: in your health, socially, etc..)

A) To keep fit. Aqua Aerobics is a form of cardio exercise.  I also meet people of different walks of life.

Q) How would you encourage people who are afraid to come into the pool to try this exercise?

A) Inform the instructor that it's their first time, and voice out any apprehension.  So, the instructor can pay attention and guide them along.

So, I hope some of us are more motivated now to do some aqua workout!

Will there be less hazy days?

Environmentalists disappointed with the new moratorium on logging in Indonesia, saying it serves little effect in global warming.

Will Singapore and Malaysia get less hazy days because of this understanding?  Clearer skies mean more outdoor recreation time.
Whenever we are hit with the smog, we cannot go to the pool or seaside, simply because it will be a health hazard!

From the Singapore Sports Council webpage, it lists 24 public pools in this small island of Singapore.  I believe this number of pools balloons when private pools in clubs and condominiums are included.  And we know how many condominiums are there in this Little Red Dot!
So...there's no excuse not to hit the pool for a good workout!
